Zimmer & Rohde
Things to dream about.
It all started with a slap in the face.
Max Marx and Ernst Rohde, the great-grandfather of the current managing director, worked in a textile wholesale trade in Karlsruhe. One day the boss's son became so insolent that Marx was only able to defend himself against the lewd boy by slapping his ear. In quarrel with the angry father, he quit. Spontaneously Rohde joined. Both founded the company Marx & Rohde on December 1, 1899 in Frankfurt am Main. From this moment on, Marx and Rohde make international contacts and set up the company piece by piece.
The company currently employs around 200 people. From the two-man operation in 1899 an international company has been created that preserved the charm and the reliability of the medium-sized family business.
